Ministers in charge of space policy, who gathered for the Competitiveness Council taking place today in Brussels, called for better use of satellite data to strengthen the EU’s response to crises—such as devastating floods or wildfires.
Today in Brussels, Ministers for Competitiveness agreed on their position regarding the e-declaration initiative, aimed at reducing red tape for companies posting workers within the EU. By introducing a single online form, the process of sending workers to another Member State will become faster, cheaper, and easier.
The Council adopted today the 17th package of economic and individual restrictive measures cutting off Russia’s access to key military technology and curbing Russia’s energy revenues that fuel its war of aggression against Ukraine, by heavily targeting Russia’s ‘shadow fleet’ of oil tankers, their operators, as well as a major Russian oil producer.
The fifth meeting of the Accession Conference with Albania was held on 22 May in Brussels. The meeting served to open negotiations with Albania on the so-called cluster 3: competitiveness and inclusive growth.

The discussion focused on the importance of the territorial dimension and the need to maintain it as a key element of policies supporting development. A Joint Declaration by EU ministers on the importance of the territorial aspect and its consideration in post-2027 development policies was adopted during the meeting.
